Last month it was time to harvest the broad beans, duly presided over by one Francis Bear. Like pass the parcel, we released the beans from their fuzzy soft pods, before blanching, podding, and freezing. Some books say to freeze in the pod, but I prefer to have them ready to go. 4850g of pods, 1370g beans.
And what better way to enjoy them than combined with some baby carrots in a risotto.
